Traditional Funeral Service Followed by Cremation

This option allows families to hold a full traditional funeral service before cremation takes place. It typically includes:

  • A public or private visitation
  • A formal funeral ceremony at our chapel or a local church
  • Use of a rental casket or cremation casket
  • Cremation following the service
  • Optional urn burial or scattering ceremony

This option is ideal for families who value traditional elements but prefer cremation as the final form of disposition.

Memorial Service

A memorial service is held after the cremation, allowing more flexibility with timing and personalization. This service can take place at:

  • Loudon Funeral Home
  • A church or place of worship
  • A family home or special location

Families can display the urn, photos, keepsakes, or tribute videos. This is a meaningful option for celebrating a loved one’s life without the presence of the body.

Graveside Service

A graveside service provides a dignified way to gather for the burial or inurnment of cremated remains. This may include:

  • Prayers or readings at the burial site
  • A eulogy or words of remembrance
  • Military honors, if applicable
  • Placement of the urn in a cemetery plot or columbarium niche

Graveside services can follow a memorial or be held as a stand-alone event.

Direct Cremation

Direct cremation is the simplest and most cost-effective option. It includes:

  • Transportation of the deceased to our funeral home
  • Completion of all necessary authorizations and permits
  • Private cremation
  • Return of the cremated remains to the family in a basic urn or container

No public service or ceremony is included, but families may choose to hold a private memorial or scattering at a later time.

Permanent Memorialization

Keeping an Urn at Home

This is a common choice and families can select the perfect urn for their loved one.

Placing the Urn in a Columbarium (aka, a “niche”)

Many families find comfort in having a final resting place that they can visit.

Burying the Urn

Similar to a casket, the in-ground burial of the urn allows for a final resting place.

Scattering of the Cremated Remains

Some families find comfort scattering the cremated remains in a place that was special to their loved one.
