William Edward “Eddie” Collis, age 82, of Loudon, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Eddie was born on February 19, 1944, in Loudon, Tennessee, to Ruth Robinson Collis and William Edward Collis, who lost his life in World War II. Eddie was a Sergeant with the Loudon City Police Department for over 20 years, retiring in 2004. He also managed his own construction business for most of his life.


He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, J.B. Collis; his brothers, Jerry Collis and Arnold Collis; and his nephews, Brian Collis and Brad Collis.


He is survived by his wife, Mary Collis; his children, Debbie (Ed) McCloud of Knoxville, Dale (Charmin) Collis of Loudon, Derwin (Cheryl) Collis of Loudon, Bill (Tina) Collis of Loudon, Terry Collis of Loudon, Jeremiah (Bridget) Collis of Loudon, Serenity Collis of Loudon, and Selena Collis of Loudon, Kathy (Darren) Hill of Anderson, South Carolina, Donald (Angie) West of Anderson, South Carolina, and Tommy Luke (Wendy) West of Anderson, South Carolina; along with their families, including 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.


The visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Loudon Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m.with Gary Cook officiating. Interment will be held on Thursday, July 30, at 11:00 a.m. at Loudon County Memorial Gardens.

Eddie’s greatest desire would be for everyone to place their faith in Jesus Christ and to accept Him as Lord and Savior. He would want each of us to know the Gospel so that one day we may be reunited with Him in the presence of our Savior.
