Wayne Calvin Rollins, age 77, of Loudon, TN went to his Heavenly home on Friday, February 19, 2021. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Loudon, TN. He was a Sunday school teacher, deacon, choir member and loved to sing with his family. He had an incredible sense of humor and brought laughter and joy to all he met. Wayne never met a stranger, and everyone loved to be around him.
His hobby was studying God’s Word, witnessing and sharing the gospel. He absolutely loved and adored his family and enjoyed life to the fullest. He served proudly in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany and Vietnam.
Wayne grew up in Loudon, attended Loudon Co. Schools where he played football for the Redskins during his High School days. He worked 24 years for Eastern Airlines in Atlanta, GA.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Rollins and mother Reba Rollins.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Betty Rollins; Son, Alan Wayne Rollins; Daughter, Amy Ann Gibson; Grandchildren, Hannah Smith, Maddux and Lexie Rollins; Stepdaughters, Donnetta Harike, Tamara Taylor, and Jennah Chandler; Step Grandchildren, Donovan and Lynlee Harike, Rhett Taylor, Thaddeus and Caspian Hardy, Chandler Bennett; He will be greatly missed by his family including brothers, Willard Rollins and wife Josie, Ronnie Rollins, and Nolen Rollins and wife Clarice; Sisters, Barbara Rollins Shramawick, Jean Rollins Giles and husband Bernard, Kay Rollins Frank and husband Dennis; Wayne is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 22, 2021 from 10am-2pm at Loudon Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow at Union Fork Creek Cemetery at 3:00 PM with Rev. Nolen Rollins and Rev. Dewayne Leming officiating. The pallbearers will be Maddux Rollins, Donovan Harike, Franklin Deford, Ken Brown, Brent Frank, Scott Harike, and Bill Fagg.
