Violet Marie Davis

Violet Marie Kittrell Davis (91) passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026. Violet was the youngest of six children born to John and Elizabeth Chambers Kittrell. She and her siblings spent their childhood in the Fork Creek Community of Loudon.

After graduating Loudon High School, Violet married Gene Davis and spent two years with him as he served in the Army in North Carolina. She became a mother to Randy and Lynn and worked many years as a hairdresser at Frances and Edith’s Beauty Shop in downtown Loudon. Violet was a member of First Baptist Church of Loudon and was involved in many activities in the community.

Violet is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Gene Davis; son, Randy Davis; parents, John and Elizabeth Kittrell; brother, Norman Kittrell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Johnnie (Norman E./Dobin) Howard, Louise (J.L.) Powell; Imogene (Lloyd) Jenkins, Mary Jo (Charles) Cochran, Helen Davis Howard, Carolyn Davis Summitt, Hugh B. Davis, and Joe (Vesta Lee) Davis.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lynn (Becky) Davis; daughter-in-law, Rita Davis; sisters-in-law, Janie Davis and Imogene Kittrell; brothers-in-law, Robert Howard and Bill Summitt; grandchildren, Samantha (Chad) Craun, Casey (Brent) Goodwin, Ty (Claire) Davis, and Alli (Tyler) Kamper. She was the proud great grandmother of Wilson, Deacon, and Amos Craun; John Randel, Ella Ruth, Jameson, Austin, and Ivy Kamper; and Ellie and Isla Davis. She also had several special nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

There is much appreciation for the love and care shown to Violet and her family by the staff at Woods Presbyterian Nursing Facility. The family is also grateful for the kindness of her special neighbors, Rick and Glynis Moore and to Wendy Bivens for many after-hours phone calls and assistance.

Friends and family may gather at Reed Springs Church Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 21st. Serving as pallbearers are Ty Davis, Cody Watts, Brent Goodwin, Chad and Wilson Craun, and Tyler Kamper. Violet’s nephew, Donny Crass, will lead a short service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to The Randy Davis Memorial Milk Fund, c/o Davis Brothers Dairy, 2303 Davis Dairy Road, Philadelphia, TN 37846.
