Shirley Spoon, age 68 of Loudon, went to be with the Lord on December 3, 2025, after a brave battle with cancer.
Shirley had the kindest soul you could ever meet. No matter how she felt, she always tried to make others smile. She loved helping people and would give to anyone she thought might be in need. She loved everybody, and everyone who knew her loved her right back. She never had a hard word for anyone. Shirley enjoyed fishing, gambling, and shopping, and if we were all as honest and genuine as she was, the world wouldn’t need much policing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Steve Spoon; and sister, Martha Jaynes.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis Franklin; nieces and nephews, Joe Jaynes and Frankie Jaynes; and cousins, including Rick Skidmore. The family would like to give a special thanks to sister-in-law, Lynn Franklin, who helped her in too many ways to name.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 4:00–6:00pm at Loudon Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 6:00pm with Rev. Charlie Brown officiating. Graveside services will be held Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 2:00pm at New Steekee Cemetery.
