Ron Hall

November 23, 1947 — March 22, 2017

Ron Hall passed away at his home in Knoxville, TN on Wednesday March 22, 2017 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Elizabethton, TN on November 23, 1947, son of the late Hazel and Grant Hall. He is preceded in death by a son, Chad Hall. He is survived by his wife Natalie Hall and daughters Selena Hall of Elizabethton and Paige Schubert of Knoxville, many aunts, uncles, cousins and especially Addie Blevins. He was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and attended Milligan College. In 1967, Hall entered the U.S. Army and reached the rank of Sergeant, serving in unit organization and supply. He proudly served a tour of duty in the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he began a career in the finance industry which lasted until the time of his death. During these years, he owned and operated several finance companies int he tri-cities area. Ron served as an account executive for many years and helped many in the mortgage industry develop into successful business people. He was a generous and talented teacher who loved the people he touched through his work. Throughout his life, Ron was active in civic organizations and community service groups, and served as President of the Elizabethton chapter of the Civitan club where he took particular in aiding in the construction of several community areas. He ran track, played baseball and softball and coached several women's softball teams. His love of all sports contributed to his passionate support of the University of Tennessee and all of its team sports. Ron Hall loved life and his family and friends dearly. He always had a friendly tease and a happy smile for all. Services, with full military rites, will be performed at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery for family and close friends. A celebration of life will follow at the Buckethead Tavern, located at 8039 Ray Mears Blvd, Knoxville, TN, Thursday March 30, 2017 from 4:30PM to 7:30PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his honor to Knox County Relay for Life. Donations will be received at any Knox County, TN Commercial Bank location or can be mailed to: Commercial Bank, Attn: Charles Lewis, 10413 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37922.
