Robert Wesley James

Robert Wesley "Wes" James, 71, passed away peacefully at his home in Loudon, TN on Saturday October 5, 2024. He earned his Bachelor's degree from University of Tennessee Chattanooga & his Master's degree from University of Tennessee Knoxville. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting & restoring Volkswagen cars. Wes served as a police officer for several years and retired as an industrial safety specialist from Y-12 in Oak Ridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents Temple Stewart James & J.W. James, brother Steve James, and brother-in-law Jerry Moates.

Survivors include loving wife of 50 years, Debbie, daughter & son-in-law Ashley & Jay Johnson of Henderson, TN, grandchildren, Temple Pearl Johnson and Joe Wesley Johnson, sister Nancy Moates, niece Jerri Anne (Kenny) McCraw, great niece Lauren McCraw, special cousin Malinda Murchie and many special friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024 from 5-7 PM in the chapel of Loudon Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7PM with Rev. Daniel Fortman officiating. 

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Wes’ honor to Valley View Freewill Baptist Church.
