Robert “Bob” Bivens, age 79 of Loudon, Tennessee, passed away on July 22,2026.
Bob was a graduate of Vonore High School and spent much of his life doing what he knew best. In 1969, he co-founded Bivens Body Shop and Wrecker Service, helping build a business that became a familiar name throughout the community. Bob took pride in his work and was known for doing things his own way.
Outside of the shop, Bob had a lifelong passion for music. He also enjoyed spending time at turkey shoots, where he was always ready for a little friendly competition. Bob had a well-earned reputation for his interest in gamefowl. Some folks might even say he knew more than the average person about competitive roosters, but Bob was usually content to let the stories speak for themselves.
Bob always took pride in his appearance. Whether he was wearing his starched jeans and shirts or heading down the road in his beloved tour bus, he liked to look his best. He lived life on his own terms, left behind plenty of stories, and will be remembered by those who knew him for being unmistakably Bob.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Maggie Bivens; his brothers, Howard, Don, Jim, John “Reford”, and Elzie; his sisters, Jeanette, Katie Sue; and his Son, Jonathan.
He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 5:00–7:00 PM at Loudon Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Gene Farmer and Pastor Steve Kirby officiating. The graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Vonore Baptist Church Cemetery.
