Rachel (Shafer) Adkins

Rachel (Shafer) Adkins, age 90 of Sweetwater formerly of Ohio, born July 11, 1933 met Jesus face to face July 4, 2024.

She is preceded in death by husband, Okey Adkins, daughters, Dorothea Hogg and Sherry Kavorkian, parents, Clarence and Hazel Shafer, brothers, Howard, Bob, Don, and Paul Shafer, sisters, Frieda, Esther, and Mary Ellen Shafer.

Left to cherish her memory, daughter, Laura Truman, sons, Okey Adkins II and wife Anita, and Miles Adkins, 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, brother, Miles Shafer and wife Bonnie, a host of relatives and friends.

Memorial service will be July 21, 2024 at Sweetwater Church of the Nazarene where she was a faithful member. The family will receive friends from 3-4pm with service to follow at 4pm with Okey Adkins II, Rev. Stacey Dockery and Rev. Davis Reynolds officiating.
