Peter Allen Lamb

Peter Allen Lamb, age 77, of Loudon, passed away August 4, 2026, following a brief illness.

He graduated from the McCallie School in Chattanooga in 1967 and from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1975.

Pete cherished memories of growing up in Rockwood, Tennessee, and the lifelong friendships he maintained. Family trips with Ben, Kay and his siblings included visiting historic landmarks and numerous snow skiing adventures across the country. Summers brought friends and family together for swimming and boating on Watts Bar Lake. He served in U.S. Navy Submarine Sonar and was stationed in Key West, Bermuda, and Antigua. His interests included sailing, hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains, kayaking, and leatherworking. He was an avid UT sports fan and a football season ticket holder for 46 years. Pete was an active member of Loudon Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he enjoyed participating in Choir, Seekers Sunday School Class, and Men’s Fellowship. He retired from SAIC in Oak Ridge.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Ben Jackson Lamb Jr. and Kathleen Parkman Lamb; his brother, Ben Jackson Lamb III; his brother-in-law, Curtis Budny; and his nephew, Nathan Budny.

Survivors are his wife of 46 years, Dr. Leigh Lamb, sons Peter Andrew (Drew) Lamb and Tyler Alexander (Alex) Lamb (wife Aubrie), sister Nancy Lamb Budny of Lake Frederick, VA., and niece Kathleen Budny Haslip, Jersey City, NJ.

A Celebration of Pete’s Life will be Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Loudon Cumberland Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. Dr. Mark Hester with reception immediately following in the church fellowship hall. A private interment is planned.
