Michael Ray Miller, 67, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 23, 2026.
Michael was a man who never lacked a story. He loved fishing and telling fish stories, spending countless hours hunting arrowheads along the banks of the Tennessee River. Many of his favorite wild tales came from past adventures with friends, often involving laughter, long nights, and memories shaped by youthful drinking days.
A skilled mechanic, Michael took pride in fixing things with his hands. He also had a well-known obsession with mowing—keeping grass neat and orderly was something he took seriously. Around his block he earned the nickname of “neighborhood watch” because he didn’t miss anything going on.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sarah Miller, and his beloved wife, Vickie Miller. He is survived by his brothers, Mitch Miller and Marshall Miller; his niece, Kaylyn Miller; and his nephew, William Miller, who will carry forward his stories, humor, and memory.
Michael will be remembered for his storytelling, and the simple pleasures he found in rivers, tools, and time spent outdoors. He was a life long small town boy of Loudon that will be missed. May all the fishing stories and tall tales be true on the other side.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 27th, from 5pm – 7pm at Loudon Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7pm with Rev. Gene Farmer officiating. Graveside service will be 1pm Wednesday, January 28, at Corinth Cemetery. Loudon Funeral Home and Cremations is proud to serve the Miller family.
