Malcolm Gray Williams, Sr., age 79 of Loudon, went to his heavenly home on April 14, 2021. He was met with “Well Done, My Good and Faithful Servant”.
Malcolm was born in Knoxville, TN to Fred and Dorothy Williams. He was a graduate of Karns High School and John A. Gupton College. He was a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer until his death. Even after retirement, he would work when called upon. He began his professional career at Weaver Funeral Home in Knoxville, TN. In 1983, he founded Loudon Funeral Home in Loudon, TN. His caring heart and love of people made him one of the best in the funeral industry.
Malcolm was a member of Valley View Freewill Baptist Church and was Past Master of Beaver Ridge Lodge #366 F&AM and Past Master of Tennessee Lodge #204 F&AM. He enjoyed spending time with his family and restoring classic cars with Doug Rucker. He was also a huge fan and proud supporter of Greenback School and Loudon High School athletics and bands.
Malcolm is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Joyce, Charles and Shelby Williams; son, Keith Cornett; and several extended family. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Williams; children, Sharon Williams, Gray Williams (Rhonda) and Kelli Doss, Desiree Herman(Adam); daughter-in-law, Regina Cornett; His grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Pop”, Brandon Williams (Heather), Mikayla Reagan (Nathaniel), Semy Turner, Hayden (Brianna), Hunter and Harley Cornett, Brady and Trista Fields, Kynslee Doss, Tyler Maples and Christopher Appling (Karen), Lamaia, Sheay and Kimberly Herman; and great grandchildren, Owen Gray Williams “the boy”, Elizabeth Grace Appling, Emma and Adalynn Cornett; Sisters, Carolyn Rodgers and Rebecca Kelley (Williem); Uncle, Hoyt Williams (Karen); several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm Friday, April 16, 2021 at Loudon Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm, with Bro. Ben Ward and Bro. Daniel Fortman officiating. A Masonic Service will be conducted by Tennessee #204 F & AM. The graveside service will be at Marietta Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Loudon City Fire and Police Association for the Children’s Christmas Fund, 100 Cedar Street, Loudon, TN 37774.
