Linda Smith passed away on May 6, surrounded by her family at Woods Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

Born March 2, 1943, in California, Linda was a lifelong resident of Tennessee. She was a graduate of Loudon High School and Vanderbilt Banking School.

Linda worked at several local banks and pharmacies, but especially treasured her years at Richesin’s Pharmacy in Loudon alongside Bob, Debbie, Tereasa, and Janice.

She loved flowers, cooking, shopping, and spending time with family. Her Apple Stack and Lemon cakes were favorites at family gatherings, and she never missed a chance to cook for her sons and grandsons. She also enjoyed beach trips with her daughter-in-law Rita and Sandra. Linda dearly loved her pets, Corky and Mollie.

She was of the Southern Baptist faith and will be interred at Reed Springs Baptist Church.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Edith Garner, and brother, Robert Garner.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John W. Smith; sons Charles (Rita) Smith and Chad M. Smith; grandsons G. Taylor (Ciara) Smith and Eli Morgan; sisters Louise (Steve) Rahlfs and Dora L. (Bill) Clark; and special friends Debbie Murray and Peggy Jacobs.

The family extends special thanks to caregiver and dear friend Rhonda Brookshear, as well as the entire staff of Woods Nursing Care, for their compassion and care throughout her illness.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Loudon Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 5:00 PM with Rev. Rick Kirkland and Rev. Thomas Lynn officiating. The graveside service will be Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Reed Springs Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Vittatoe officiating.
