John Lee ‘Injun’ Brown, age 92 of Lenoir City, formally of Loudon, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023. He was a 1950 graduate of Loudon High School, a Veteran of the United States Air Force, Fighting 809 Squadron, retired from State Farm Insurance after 44 years of being an Agent, member and Deacon of First Baptist Church of Loudon, and a member and Past Master of Tennessee Lodge 204 F&AM.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years Willie Jean Brown, granddaughter Brooke Torbett, parents John Washington Lee and Mary Lydia Shirk Brown, sisters Doloris Brown Johnson and Nancy Brown Gossage.
He is survived by his son Terry Brown, daughter Tammy Brown, sister Joyce Brown Lusby and Linda Brown Evans and brother-in-law Jim Evans, several nieces and nephews and extended family members.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Freddie Davis, James Carlisle, Caine (James’ dog which daddy called him ‘bow-wow’) Tonya Finley and Ashley Hunt for the compassion and care over the last year and half.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 11am-1pm at Loudon Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 1pm with Rev. Brian Courtney officiating and a Masonic Funeral service by Tennessee 204 F&AM. Interment will follow at Loudon County Memorial Gardens with military honors. Loudon Funeral Home and Cremations are in charge of the arrangements.
