James F. "Jim" Wiggins

April 29, 1944 — June 18, 2023

Loudon

James F. (Jim) Wiggins, 79 of Loudon, left his home on Steekee School Road and entered his eternal home in Heaven on June 18, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.  Jim was born April 29, 1944 to James Ted Wiggins and Trula Thornburg.  He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 33 years of hardwork. He was a Veteran of the Tennessee Army National Guard and a member of the American Legion Post #120 and the local VFW.

Jim was an avid VOL Fan and he enjoyed having his family over on game day. He loved hunting, fishing, the outdoors and riding horses. But he seemed the happiest working in the family garden tending to his tomatoes.  You could catch him most anytime of the day sitting on his porch with Charlotte, drinking coffee and enjoying the birds, as he had many bird feeders, or picking his guitar under the shade tree, singing those good ole country songs.  Jim enjoyed watching the wildlife, rabbits, squirrels and deer prance across his property.  He thought the sun wouldn’t shine if he wasn’t outside for it to shine on him.  If anyone asked Dad what he wanted or needed he would always say “just some fishing stuff”.  Jim was a hardworking family man that absolutely loved his children and grandchildren. He was the leader of the Wiggins family and will be dearly missed by them all.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, James T. Wiggins and mother, Trula Thornburg. He is survived by his sweetheart of 59 years, wife, Charlotte (Oody) Wiggins; sister, Twinkle Cochman; children, Rick (Alisha) Wiggins, Kim (Billy) Russell, Ted (Lachelle) Wiggins, Ron Wiggins, Jimmey “JJ” (Crystal) Wiggins, Chris (Beth) Wiggins, Jerome (Tabby) Wiggins and LeeAnn Wiggins (Toby). Jim always referred to LeeAnn as “Caboose”; 24 grandchildren, Cody Wiggins, Tyler Wiggins, Kayla Russell, Brandon Russell, Becca Toney, Emily Rizzitiello, Alexis Melton, Joe Wiggins, Laura Wiggins, Brandon Shirk, Addison Wiggins, Eli Wiggins, Brantley Wiggins, Everly Wiggins, Jeremy Wiggins, Waylon Wiggins, Jaimie Wiggins, Destiny Tuck, Devin Tuck, Kyle Tuck, Trey Tuck, Jesse Russell, Reagan Russell and Clinton Russell; 18 great grandchildren; special first cousins, Carolyn Bledsoe and Betty Jane Bright; and special friends, James H. Davis and Nancy Russell; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Loudon Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Chad Oody officiating.
