James Thomas

James E. Thomas, of Loudon, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was retired from Loudon City and Loudon County Sanitation Department. He was a former County Commissioner, City Councilman as well as being the former Constable of Loudon County. He was Veteran of the US Army and US Air Force; and served during the Korean War. He was also a member of the VFW and American Legion. Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Inez (Simpson) Thomas; Helen Thomas, his wife of 35 years; several brothers and sisters; and grandson, Ollie Hughes. Survivors: sons, James, David and Donnie Thomas; step daughters, Charlene Dodson, Carol Knox and Hilah Cummings; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Funeral service will be 7:00 pm Tuesday, Loudon Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Sammy Thomas officiating. Graveside service 11:00 am Wednesday, Riverview Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Air ForceHonor Guard.
