SMALLEN, JAMES FRED - 83, of Poplar Springs Community, Loudon, passed away Monday morning, December 19, 2011 at Parkwest Hospital. Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and preceded in death by parents, Fred and Martha Cook Smallen; sisters, Thelma Smallen and Della Gentry, infant son, Jeffrey Lynn Smallen. Survivors: wife of 59 years, Edna Willis Smallen; son, Randy Smallen and wife, Cindy, Loudon; grandsons, Lynn Smallen and wife, Marcee, Kodak, Adam Smallen, Loudon; great grandsons, Tyler Smallen, Loudon and Lane, Hannah and Jordan Smallen, Kodak. Funeral services 7:00 p.m. Wednesday Loudon Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ronnie Davis and Rev. Gary Cook officiating. Interment 10:30 a.m. Thursday Loudon County Memorial Gardens.
