Helen Mildred Humphreys

Helen Mildred Humphreys, age 95, of Sweetwater, passed away surrounded by her family on June 18, 2026. She was a devoted farmer's wife who enjoyed quilting, canning, and caring for her family. No one ever left her home hungry, and she especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren. Helen attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Walter Humphreys; son, Hugh Humphreys; parents, Clarence Franks and Bartie Jacobs; and siblings, Violet Oody, Sherby Moats, and Doby Franks.

Helen is survived by her children, William Humphreys (Betsy), Wayne Humphreys (Sharon), Brinda Berry (Larry Curtis), and Sara Humphreys (Eugene Giles); five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother, Halbert Franks (Carolyn); and sisters, Sandra Franks and Peggy Kyle (Jerry).

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregiver and friend, Cathy Hope, as well as the staff of Woods Village in Sweetwater for their compassionate care and support.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Loudon Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Tony Curtis and Rev. Darrell Carden officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
