Mrs. Hazel McNabb Riddle of Philadelphia, TN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the age of 99. She was residing at Life Care Center of Hickory Woods, a long-term skilled care facility in Antioch, TN.
Mrs. Riddle was born and lived for 90 years in her beloved Loudon County. She attended Loudon High School and was in the graduating class of 1945. She married Boyd Riddle, and they welcomed a daughter, Kaye, who was their only child. Mrs. Riddle was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Philadelphia for 60 years. She was employed at a local hosiery mill and later at Purina Foods until she retired at the age of 62. Mrs. Riddle lived on her family farm in Philadelphia, TN, until the age of 90. Due to failing health, she moved to Murfreesboro with her daughter, Kaye, and son-in-law, Jeff Condit. While there, she enjoyed socializing with friends and family, shopping, and watching her great-grandchildren grow. She attended Salem United Methodist Church while living in Murfreesboro.
After a series of falls, Mrs. Riddle moved to Life Care Center of Hickory Woods, where she was lovingly cared for. She thoroughly enjoyed activities such as Bingo, arts and crafts, and socializing with her friends each day. The staff at Life Care deeply loved and cared for her during the last few years of her life. She was voted Valentine Queen and Queen of Hickory Hills by the staff and residents of the facility. Mrs. Riddle was also deeply cared for by her hospice care team through Adoration Hospice.
Mrs. Riddle is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kaye Riddle Condit and Jeff Condit; granddaughter, Valerie Condit Rogers and husband, Zach; grandson, Jeffrey Condit; great-grandchildren, Lyndon, Ainsley, and Oliver Condit, and Ryann and Xavier Rogers; as well as special friends Diann and Upton (Boo) Sharp; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mrs. Riddle was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Riddle; her parents, John T. (Mose) and Ruth Anderson McNabb; her brothers, Curtis, George, and Carl McNabb; and her cousin and lifelong friend and cohort, Iva Bryant.
We thank all who loved Hazel throughout her life. We could not have asked for a more caring, peaceful, and loving end to her 99 years on Earth. She took her last peaceful breath while holding Kaye’s hand, surrounded by the deep love of her biological family and her Life Care family.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Loudon Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at Loudon County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
