Gordon Russell

Gordon Oscar Russell, age 83, of Piney community, Loudon, TN went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.  He was a member of Blairland Baptist Church and retired member of Carpenter Local 50.  He was a farrier and has done side jobs all over the country.  He was a simple, hard-working man who his faith and family mattered to him more than anything in this world.  He was a dedicated husband, mentoring father, helpful neighbor and wonderful friend.  He always had a flare for finding the funny, whether it was through his jokes, stories or thoughts of life.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Hester Russell; brothers, Billy, Gary and Buddy Russell; sisters, Rosetta Marion and Janet McMahan and special nephew, Chuck Marion. He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Triffine Isbill Russell; and son and daughter in law, Brian and Anna Russell.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm, with the funeral service at 3:00 pm. Rev. Norman Heath and Pastor Jon Henson will be officiating. Interment will follow at Union Fork Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Rick Kirkland officiating.
