Geraldine Oody Franklin

Geraldine Oody Franklin, age 84, of Loudon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Geraldine retired from NHC Healthcare in Farragut after many years of dedicated service as a certified nursing assistant. She took great pride in caring for others.

She was a member of Reed Springs Baptist Church. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Silas Franklin Jr.; sons Michael Franklin and Gary Franklin; parents Charles and Willie Oody; sister Jeanette Johnson; and brother Arthur Lee Oody.

Geraldine is survived by her daughters Teresa Franklin and Cindy Braden (Stacey); son Charles Franklin (Jeannie); grandchildren Dustin Franklin, Stephanie Collis (Jered), Brittany Campbell (Dillen), Bailey Braden, Gary Lee Rudolph, Trevor Franklin (Karlea), and Brittany Luv Emert (Josh); great-grandchildren Parker, Grant, Dalton, Declan, Gary, Taliah, Peyton, Oaklyn, Wrenlee, Brooks, Aria, Piper, Brantley, Mason, and Macey; sisters Charlotte Wiggins, Darlene Moser, Bobbie Jo Harrell (Rick) and sister-in-law Mary Ruth Oody; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Loudon Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Rick Harrell and Rev. Jerry Vittatoe officiating. The graveside service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Reed Springs Cemetery.
