Gene Brady Simpson

Gene Brady Simpson, age 76, of Loudon, passed away on June 15, 2026. He was a 1968 graduate of Loudon High School. Gene was a lifelong fan of Loudon Redskins athletics. He spent much of his life farming dairy and beef cattle. He enjoyed fishing and was a faithful member and greeter at Loudon United Methodist Church.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Vaughn Simpson and Sue Millsaps Simpson; grandparents, Nelle Browder Simpson and Homer Harrison Simpson, and David Carra Millsaps and Mae Bright Millsaps.

He is survived by his sister, Susan Simpson Clendenen (Gary); brother, Tommy D. Simpson (Scarlett); nephews, Brett T. Clendenen (Kim) and Tyler K. Clendenen (Caitlin); nieces, Hayley Simpson Lay (Tyler) and Hunter Simpson Motter (Luke); and great-nieces and great-nephews, Carter and Hallie Clendenen, Wallace and Campbell Clendenen, and Nora and Millie Lay.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his longtime caregivers, Lauran Walden and Ariel Walden, for their dedicated care over the years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Loudon United Methodist Church (P.O. Box 342 Loudon, TN 37774).

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Loudon Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Brian Courtney and Rev. Randall Wright officiating.

The graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Harrison Cemetery.
