Dorothea Sue Hogg

Dorothea Sue Adkins Hogg, age 67 of Sweetwater, went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

Dorothea served as a devoted preachers wife for 20 years at Sweetwater First Church of the Nazarene. She served as a Sunday School teacher in Cleveland and Sweetwater for 24 years. She was a loving mom and mamaw. 

Dorothea is preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Clarence Hogg; twin daughters, Janet Lee and Patricia Ann Hogg; father, Okey Adkins; and sister, Sherry Kavorkian; brother in law, Tink Truman.  She is survived by daughters, Tammy Roberts and husband Shawma, and Amanda McCulley and husband Jason; Grandchildren, Jonathon and Summer Shipley, Joshua, Olivia, and Micah McCulley; Great Grandchildren, Kahlani Valentine, Kamdyn Oggs, and Kaspian Shipley; Step Grandchildren, Jason, Jaden, Davious, Maya, and Lex; loving mother, Rachel Adkins; siblings, Okey and Anita Adkins, Laurie Truman and Miles Adkins; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Sweetwater First Church of the Nazarene. The Funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm with Pastor Stacey Dockery officiating. Graveside service will be at 4:00 pm Sunday, April 9, 2023 at the Hogg Trout Farm, 343 County Road 114, Athens, TN.
