Donald Ray Goodman Sr., age 78, of Sweetwater, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 21, 2025. He was a member of Old Country Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Maggie Goodman; brothers, Charles “Buddy” Goodman, Leon Goodman, Elmer Goodman, and Roy Goodman; and sister, Anna Ruth Beasley.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Goodman; son, Donald Goodman Jr. and wife, Candice; step-children, Jason Cogdill, Adam Cogdill, Amy Davidson and husband, Ronnie, and Katie Shattuck; grandchildren, Cody Goodman and wife, Natalee, Zackary Goodman, and Rhet Goodman and wife, Chelsea; step-grandchildren, Katelynn Cogdill, Isaac Cogdill, Elijah Cogdill, Abby Ritter, A.J. Shattuck, and Piper Cogdill; brother, David Paul Goodman; and sister, Rena Fay Shoemaker.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 24, 2025, from 5–7 p.m. at Old Country Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow with Pastor Sammy Thomas Jr. officiating. Graveside service will be Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Sweetwater Memory Gardens with Pastor Sam Maynard officiating.
