Dennis Parker

Dennis Parker, age 82, of Loudon, passed away on March 29, 2026.

Dennis served in the U.S. Marine Corps before becoming an officer with the Alhambra Police Department in Alhambra, California. In 1978, he changed careers and went into the motion picture industry. He worked in the sound department at 20th Century Fox, where he became a supervisor. The people who worked with him deeply loved and respected him, and the sentiments were mutual. He missed the coworkers he left behind when he retired in 2008. He was also a voting member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and continued to actively serve in this capacity until just a few years before the end of his life. He was known and admired at work and at home for his strong work ethic. He was very proud of his work and service to his country, to his community, and to the motion picture industry.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Terrie, who passed away in August of 2023. They were married for 52 years. He is survived by their daughter, Holly.
