Deborah Dries

Deborah Dries, age 73, of Loudon, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025.

Born February 12, 1952, in Mendota, Illinois, Deb was the daughter of Leslie and Etta Belle (Smith) Butts. She lived a life full of compassion, resilience, and love. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and strength touched everyone who knew her.

Deb loved being a mother and grandmother. She most enjoyed it when her family could all be under one roof celebrating whether for holidays or simple backyard cookouts, she made everyone feel welcome. She had a joyful and playful spirit, often cracking jokes and making herself laugh until she cried. She loved puzzles and games of all kinds—often bending the rules just enough to win and make everyone laugh. Her sense of humor, competitive streak, and big heart made her the beautiful soul that we all love.

Deb is survived by her loving children: Angela Schiller, Derek (Heather) Bauer, and Chad (Tina) Bauer; her 9 grandchildren: Zachery Schiller, Jessica Mikyska, Kaitlyn Steidtmann, Maria Dries, Nada Dries, Sasha Bauer, Maria Bauer, Cameron Bauer, and Lucas Bauer; her brothers Doug Butts and Donny Sommers; her dear friend Fred Dries, and many other family and friends.

Deb is preceded in death by her parents: Leslie and Etta Belle (Smith) Butts, her brother Denny Butts and her Husband Ray Bauer.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date, honoring her life in accordance with her wishes.
