Cathy Darlene Russell Chadwell was born on July 27, 1957, in Loudon, Tennessee, to John Collie Russell and Geneva Isabell Shubert Russell. She spent much of her early life in Detroit, Michigan, before returning home to Tennessee in 1991. She later retired from Vytron Manufacturing in Loudon.
Cathy will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Doyle Chadwell Jr., with whom she shared more than four decades of marriage beginning May 4, 1984.
She is also survived by her daughter, Danielle Brotherton Gribble of Loudon, and Danielle’s sons, Payne Bennett, Peyton Bennett, and Payce Bennett; and her son, Richard Lee Brotherton of Loudon, and his daughters, Alyssa Williams and Hailey Brotherton. Cathy’s family continued to grow through the blessing of six great-grandchildren, along with many special nieces and nephews who held a cherished place in her life.
Cathy is further survived by her sisters, Ann Russell Tilley of Athens, Tennessee, and Betty Sue Russell Meddings of Sweetwater, Tennessee. She also leaves behind her beloved “sister in love,” Sheila Finnell; her very special sister-in-law, Sandy Chadwell; and her sisters-in-law, Donna Hendrickson, Brenda Nickel, and Wanda Emmons.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Emma Chadwell and Doyle Chadwell; and her siblings, James Dewayne Russell, Lee Roy Russell, Johnny Ray Russell, and Gina Faye Russell Hodge.
Cathy’s family extends heartfelt gratitude to her sister, Ann Russell Tilley, and Ann’s daughter, Paula Tilley Travis, for their loving help and support. A special thank-you also goes to her niece, Lisa Henke, whose laughter and shared video clips brought Cathy so much joy. The family is also deeply grateful to Cathy’s Sea Ray family for the friendship, kindness, and special place they held in her heart.
Cathy will be remembered for the love she shared, the laughter she inspired, and the lasting place she holds in the hearts of her family and friends. Her memory will continue to live on through the many lives she touched, and the treasured moments shared with those who loved her.
