Brenda Kay Lanter, 75, of Loudon, passed away on October 24, 2026.
She leaves behind a legacy of faith, hard work, kindness, and unconditional love. She will always be remembered by the family she cherished and by all the lives she touched. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that she is at peace and in the presence of her Savior.
Kay found happiness in God’s beautiful things. She enjoyed her flowers and watching hummingbirds from the comfort of her screened-in porch. She was always deemed everyone’s “favorite,” mostly because of just how genuinely kind she was. She reflected Jesus in everything she did.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Lee and Alma Costner; husband, Harold Lanter; brothers, James Costner and William (W.B.) Costner; and sister, Carol Vineyard.
She is survived by her sister, Linda Plemons; son, David Bolt (Tonya), and his children, Sarah Bolt, Morgan Gray (Adam), Alexis Bolt, Trava Milam (Nathan), and Nya King; and great-grandchildren, Caroline and Carlea.
She is also survived by her son, Scot Bolt (Lora), and his children, Destinee, Jacob, Shannon, and Selena; daughter, Jennifer Lanter White (Don), and her children, Emily and Caleb; along with a host of extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Loudon Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Roger Arwood, Rev. Greg Jameson and Rev. Dewey Brown officiating. The graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Corinth Cemetery.
