Betty S. Sherrill, age 80, of Mt. Juliet, went to be with the Lord on September 16, 2026. She was a member of Providence Church of Mt. Juliet.
Betty graduated from Loudon High School in 1964. Known as GG to her grandchildren, she brought so much joy, laughter, and life to her family. She loved her people well and fed them well, with traditions like GG’s pizza, log cake, pistachio dessert, and breakfast burritos becoming treasured parts of birthday celebrations and family visits.
She was always smiling, ready with a big hug, cheering on the people she loved, and often sharing the latest update on her Starbucks rewards.
One favorite family memory captures her perfectly: at one of her granddaughters’ volleyball tournaments, someone spotted a pair of grandparents outside the gym doing push-ups. Without even looking, her granddaughter knew they had to be hers.
GG’s energy, laughter, love for her family, and deep faith will always be remembered.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Edith White; brother, Roy White; and sisters-in-law, Willie White and Patsy White.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, David Sherrill; children, Aaron and Traci Sherrill of Knoxville and Amy and Brad Love of Franklin; grandchildren, Jack, Sidney, and Connor Sherrill, and Preston Gregory; brothers, Charles and wife Sue White, Jerry and wife Sue White, and H.L. White; several nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
