Barbara "Sue" Houston

Barbara "Sue" Houston, age 77, of Loudon, went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2026. Sue was an avid horse lover who loved riding, training, and caring for horses throughout her life. She qualified for and competed in the AQHA World Championship Horse Show multiple times, where she earned a third-place finish in 1988. She loved being with family, especially her grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Earline Simpson; and her brother, Richard "Dick" Simpson.

Sue is survived by her son, CB Houston and wife, Angie; her sister, Debbie Bowers and husband, Will; her grandsons, Brody Houston and Blaine Houston; her niece, Ginger Pritchard Johnston; her nephew, Ryan Freels; and her sister-in-law, Shannon Simpson.

The family would like to thank the staff at Waters of Sweetwater for the compassionate care they provided.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Loudon Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM. The graveside service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Loudon County Memorial Gardens.
